Sunday’s Fgraffito Art

This was my Fgraffito exercise using Shiva artist’s oil paintsticks over India ink. Very enamored with this process and plan to do more.

It’s dramatic, but subtly so. I think it’s beautiful

    1. Thanks, Amy. It’s an interesting process. You paint India ink over watercolor paper, then cover with white Shiva oil paintstick and then draw and “take away.” I used the end of a sucker, you know those white sticks, for drawing. It was a blast.

I’ll be bringing some India ink to the April workshop- I’ve been using it a lot to draw and make marks on the encaustic surface. Fun!

    1. I’m really looking forward to the class, Bridgette. Anyone else want to join? Books of Images and Wax with Bridgette Guerzon Mills, April 4-6 at the Pacific Northwest Art School on Whidbey Island, WA.

  4. It looks liks a self-portrait of a lovely lady. Like the colors.

    1. Thanks, Mary, but it’s not me. LOL! It’s actually Susan Sarandon.

      1. Nice portrait and her movie “Thelma & Louise” is one that I always remember because that Thunderbird convertible reminds me of my very first car.
